Steamed Bok Choy with Ginger
A delicate Chinese sattvic dish featuring tender bok choy steamed with fresh ginger and sesame oil. This light, easily digestible recipe supports meditation practice and provides gentle nourishment. The subtle ginger warmth aids digestion while the sesame oil provides grounding energy.
Prepare the bok choy: Rinse the bok choy thoroughly under cool filtered water. Trim the base and separate the leaves, keeping them whole for better presentation.

Prepare steaming setup: Fill a steamer pot with filtered water to just below the steamer basket. Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Arrange bok choy: Arrange the bok choy leaves in the steamer basket in a single layer. Scatter the sliced ginger over the top.

Steam the vegetables: Place the steamer basket over the boiling water. Cover and steam for 8-10 minutes until the bok choy is tender but still maintains its bright green color.

Finish and serve: Transfer the steamed bok choy to a serving plate. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sea salt. Serve warm as a side dish or light main course.
